RehabCorePT Health Innovation Challenge - NOV HACKATHON

The RehabCorePT Health Innovation Challenge is a fast-paced, hands-on, multidisciplinary experience that brings together students, aspiring healthcare professionals, engineers, designers, and innovators for three days of collaborative problem-solving. Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams to address real-world rehabilitation and healthcare challenges, applying both technical and human-centered perspectives while engaging directly with clinicians, patients, and industry experts.

The Winter 2026 Challenge has been developed in partnership with RehabCorePT, a leader in physical therapy, rehabilitation, and patient-centered care in Long Island City, New York. Throughout the event, participants will learn from RehabCorePT staff and healthcare partners while exploring the real challenges faced by rehabilitation providers and patients, gaining insight into how healthcare, technology, and human needs intersect.

Stakeholders will introduce authentic clinical and operational problem contexts, after which teams will ideate, prototype, and iterate on innovative solutions. Participants will draw on their diverse backgrounds, including healthcare, engineering, product design, data analytics, and user experience, to develop practical and impactful concepts that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

The challenge concludes with team presentations to a panel of judges, who will provide constructive feedback and recognize standout solutions for innovation, feasibility, and potential impact.

This event is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, healthcare professionals, and innovators from all disciplines and backgrounds.

Wed, Nov 25  (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM):

Introduction to the challenge, healthcare problem space overview, and review of the evaluation criteria.

Thur, Nov 26  (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM):

Teams select a challenge, conduct research, develop concepts, and begin prototyping.

Friday, Nov 27(9:00 AM - 5:00 PM):

Prototype refinement, final presentations, judging, and awards ceremony.
